Speakers Corner - 100 Year NRL Anniversary Luncheon
Featuring legend Noel 'Crusher' Cleal & Manly Sea Eagles
To celebrate the centenary of NRL, we are excited to welcome one of the true ‘greats’ of the game, Noel ‘Crusher’ Cleal as well as one of Manly’s current 1st grade players to be named shortly.
In 2005, Noel was named as one of the 25 greatest players ever for NSW. He came to prominence as a destructive second rower for the Manly Sea Eagles and played a key role in Manly’s premiership success in 1987.
Starting as a ‘centre’, he was switched to the second row by legendary coach Bob Fulton, which kicked off Noel’s ascendancy to State and National honours. Noel played some of his best footy during his representative role at state-of-origin level where he player 12 games between 84 & 88 and went on to also played 8 tests for Australia in 85 & 86.
He continues to be heavily involved in his much loved Manly Sea Eagles whom themselves will be a force to be reckoned with in 2008.
Come and join Noel and other prominent Manly 1st Graders as they reflect on where the game as come from, where it is today and how Manly plans to be a dominant force in this years competition.
